Union Station has always been an epicenter of activity, but until recently it was only a hotspot for commuters. After (some of the) construction finally wrapped up around the station, the city was left with a beautiful, expansive promenade that was just begging to fill up. Last year, Union Summer debuted as a wonderful, centralized cross-section of everything Toronto has to offer. It successfully delighted crowds with delicious food and brilliant showcases of music and culture.
Boasting more than two million visitors per week, Union Summer has returned this year with a vengeance. Food, culture, music and shopping continue to be the driving force behind what draws people to the area. It’s not just Jay’s fans and people clocking in and out of work anymore, it’s everyone.
Notable food vendors to check out on the Front Street Promenade include Barsa Taberna, Loaded Pierogi, The Carbon Bar, Death in Venice, Gushi, Lahuna Poke, Momofuku Noodle Bar, Pilot Coffee Roasters, True True Pizza, and many, many more. You can expect to get some good eats this summer until September 5th on Monday to Friday from 7am to 9pm, on Saturday from 11am to 9pm, and on Sunday from 11am to sunset.
Once your belly is full, you can burn all of those calories by exploring all of the vendor tents filled with what Toronto Union calls “local street style.” Retailers from all over the city have tents and booths setup to display their wares. Wandering through the shopping strip is a great way to get to know what this city’s local creators and business owners have to offer.
It’s clear; Union Summer is here to stay, which is why we here at Black Line Studio have a little favor to ask. If we had a booth on promenade, would you come to see us? Would you be on board to get some ink done too? If you want to see our beautiful faces as much as we want to see yours (or if you don’t —it’s okay we still love you), vote in our poll linked below to let us know!
Don’t forget about our July contest! Black Line studio is giving away a Prize Pack + 100 Gift Certificate. To enter, follow the link http://gvwy.io/7ufvq1d
